Shea expressed a desire at that moment that he really wanted other people to experience the bliss of CoSM. You see, He is Shea, King Little Hawk, Guardian-Protector of the Indigo, my successor, for a reason, because he too believes in healing through art and wants others to experience the healing joy of what we do as artists and performers. Our job is, through or efforts and those in our circle, is to raise awareness and awakening to the Star Seeds, Indigo, Crystal, Elder Children and Astral Light Workers, now come home to roost and help heal this ailing world, with their medicine and magick. The lion’s share of our work is to make dreams come true, for the greater good. We really do help as many people as we can, with all that we have.
Shea is the poster child for the dream fund because he embodies the disciplined artist that is willing to bust his butt. Working hours a day, week after week, in pursuit of his dreams as an artist, be it though his wood carving, stone wrapping, etching, painting, fire martial arts and spinning. We have others who are either ready of near ready but lets use Shea, King Little Hawk as the example;
All his life there have been people who have tried to discourage him, in pursuit of his dreams as an artist, people that said he was chasing a pipe dream, and that his mentor Yust was the pied piper, leading him astray, down that alley of disappointment, because a kid from West Virginia, with traumatic brain injury, succeeding as an artist was a fool’s errand, and anyone that thought he could do it was just as crazy as Little Hawk is.
Okay, so we are both crazy but he made it to Alex Grey’s CoSM, where he spun his fire magick for three hours straight without a mistake, making his “wax on, wax off, Mister Miyagi, very proud of him. As for those that tried to fill our heads with the furrball of foreboding, saying they had a bad vibe about him, me, our chances etc… Well, that was a weekend that will live in infamy and the best night of his life, mine too for that matter, when I finally mastered the sacred art of breathing again. Never listen to the small minded that always feel compelled to tear things down because they dwell in their own self-appointed misery. You feel you can do something, then do it and take no prisoners, just like, our mountain witch hero, Little Hawk did.
Through no fault of his own or that of his mentor, a small group of folks engaged in some negative interference, that cost Shea some $1,400 US, telling him of a sure thing out West that would make him a ton of money, all that and a bag of chips, which was some costly bullshit. IN addition to depriving our hero of the hills $1,400, it nearly put two years of hard work in the bowl with the skid marks of lost money and greater opportunity.
Little Hawk, a young man of some pride and concern, for his mentor Yust had grown uncomfortable with his mentor always being responsible for the bulk of expenses related to helping him realize his dreams, wanted to give the “easy money” a chance so he, Little Hawk, could carry some of the investment weight involved in his future.
Everyone, from the mom on down, assured us that all would be well, with the quickly doomed venture and his mentor should just butt out because they had his best interest, at heart. Ironically Shea, wanting to spare his mentor more expense, actually did have Yust interests, at heart and soul.
Not all was lost, however, when the cosmic toilet took a big ole flush. When given an opportunity to perform at Alex Grey’s Full Moon Celebration and redeem himself for missing an event there in October, along with other paid events in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York, Shea, King Little Hawk, rocked fire for three hours, performing, acting as safety, networking, chatting with Alex and Allyson Grey, Brian James and our friends Danni, Matt, Sean and other family he had yet to meet.
When we awoke the next morning to buzz with bliss from the night before in room number seven above the sacred chamber, Little Hawk was like the wabbit in Alice and Wonderland, hopping around everywhere, leaving two garden gnomes out of breath, this one in particular. What an extraordinary night.
Fire martial artists, ecstatic circus artists, acro-yogi’s, multi-media story telling are all beautiful and wonderful things that are very hard to fins corporate sponsorship for, so we must go where the support is, to the people, be it material of cloth, feather, leather, bone, animal hide for costumes, equipment for fire, circus, poi, flotoys, chucks, staff, swords, wicks, wire etc… and, of course the ever-needed funding.
Instead of Shea making the $1,400 from gigs, with his heart, anyway, in the right place, we had to beg, borrow and pay out of pocket about $2,000. The debt only got bigger when he came up with someone not very well equipped, something she seemed oblivious to, for Alex Grey’s 60th birthday, once again I had to dig seep, call in favors etc…
Shea will now be living with me for the next 6 months, to try things from a different angle, which means we will be saving money on transportation back and forth to West Virginia. I will be taking on work, as he will, in between gigs take on contract jobs, teaching, as I go back to doing readings and brokering art. I may even have to grab my ankles and go back to the corporate world for awhile.
Is it worth it? You betcha! With money saved on transportation, we will be able to help even more artists and we have a few pokers in the fire that will bring notoriety to our work together as well.
CAN YOU HELP? OH, PLEASE DO!!!!! I have had to underwrite so much since both my Cousin Zander and Lord Vikingheart passed, and we need help, in the absence of corporate sponsorship.
I can work on a small budget, squeezing each and every dollar until the eagle grins, but The Gossamer Court, once again really needs your help.
